Street lights in the Johannesburg inner city are prone to being faulty. This creates spaces that are undesirable and opportune for deviance. Without being able to get permission from the local authority to erect lighting or fix the existing one, the proposed lighting installation was connected between private buildings (not touching the ground or using local authority power). It also defines the primary activity street in the neighbourhood.
