The Rea Vaya Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) System is a key infrastructural development that radically changes the way that Johannesburg is navigated and experienced. In order to relay the story of place, each station makes an allowance for a two dimensional artwork on a portion of its façade. As commissioning agents - a series of 142 artworks inspired by the peculiarity, energy and stories of the city and its people were selected.  Each artwork narrated a rich reading of the city through themes such as migration, gold, play, communication, interaction, transport and diversity.
