Radical appropriation of inner city building real estate for retail purposes has resulted in an extreme concentration of shops in the CBD. Mostly operated by foreigners trading to consumers across South Africas borders, these shops play a vital role shaping our social, economic and spatial arrangement in the city. The project investigates and documents extraordinary the patterns and spatiality that emerges through these retails practices.
