Located on a large suburban property, the existing heritage house required adjustments to meet the new owners needs. The needs centred around creating more functionality for her family and space to centred towards living and socialising. The design protected the integrity of the original heritage house and added appendages of lifestyle-infrastructure to the house – which included the veranda, kitchen and bathroom. The veranda covered the front of the house and mediated the relationship between inside and the sun-filled garden. The veranda connected the entrance, living interiors and orientated them to the garden allowing for a consolidated and connected space for social life of the house.
