The JDA’s ‘Our City, Our Block’ project aimed to identify small-scale interventions within the Inner City, working

collaboratively with stakeholders in order to ensure that future capital projects invest in the needs and requirements of the users of the city and contribute to improved functioning in each area. This approach involves local communities becoming the driving force behind the identification and framing of

key projects so as to catalyse development and investment across the inner city and to produce reciprocal socio-economic contributions between partners. The objectives focus on forging productive partnerships with active stakeholders within the Johannesburg inner city.
