As an extension of the our obsession around micro-economic practices, Season 6 at the Centre for the Less Good Idea provided a creative occasion to explore the idea of Work with performance and visual artists. Invited to co-curate Season 6 with choreographer Sello Pesa, the thematic interests of Work. The body-politic of Work, its spatiality, repetition, agency and choreography was tested with performing artists bringing sharp insight into the powerful consequences and intimacy of Work – as practiced in our daily lives. Together with the curation, a vertical stage was designed to expand the performance space and implicate the performer as prop and vice versa. A mobile stage was designed as a transgressive device that transplanted performances into the street – while simultaneously providing an instant infrastructure for street performers that have no stage.
