The End of Cities project is the final in a three-part series of installations by conceptual artist Stephen Hobbs. Premised on the writing of Calvino and Borges, a conversation emerged between artist and architect. The unfinished highway became the site of speculation and enquiry. Accompanied by a choreographed journey through the city, the project manifested as a site-specific exhibition. Reference is made to the study area through cutouts in the shop front installation, which further mediates the interface between gallery and street.
