This work is part of a larger masterplan we have produced for the client that seeks to optimise the property portfolio in the neighbourhood. A series of old industrial sheds occupy this city block adjacent the clients main operating base in Ellis Park. The brief calls for the rehabilitation of the site, protection of the sheds and reprograming of the site towards a financially feasible product. Central to unlocking the value of the site is the introduction of parking and reconfiguration of the ablution block which unlocks development opportunity and is transformed in a large water trough, toilets and security booth. The sheds are restored to allow for creative industries and restaurants with a urban farm, public open spaces and activated by an event space in the existing factory.
